FAQ's

Does POST accept my insurance?
POST accepts all major insurers. Check the list on our insurance page, and call us if your provider is not listed to discuss further options.

Do you treat the problem that I have?
POST specializes in orthopedic injuries, and is equipped for most of the scope of physical therapy. Check out our specialties page for more specific information.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
You will need your insurance card, a referral from your doctor (for most insurance plans, call us if you have questions), and comfortable clothing that will allow you to expose the injured part of your body.

If you have a leg or foot injury, it would also be helpful to bring whatever shoes you wear for exercising or walking. You can also download and fill out the necessary paperwork to bring in if you would like (check out our forms section or you can also fill it out when you get here).

Does POST offer pool therapy?
Unfortunately we do not have pool facilities available at any of our current locations.

How long are initial evaluation appointments?
Evaluations take 30-45 minutes. You will also need to come 15 minutes early in order to fill out the necessary paperwork, so that the therapist can spend the full time scheduled with you.

How long will follow-up appointments be?
Plan on being at POST for about 45 minutes for follow-ups. You will have 20-30 minutes of time with your therapist, and some additional time for supervised exercise, as well as ice or other modalities as needed.

I’m not an athlete, is POST still the right place for me?
Absolutely - POST sees patients anywhere from 5-100 years old, and of all activity levels.

Whether your goal is to get rid of pain while typing, be able to get up the stairs without help, recover after surgery, improve your balance, walk a bit further, or get back to your favorite sport, POST can help.

Do you offer affiliations and/or employment to physicial therapy students?
POST is dedicated to furthering physical therapy education through active participation with area schools’ clinical programs.

Students are encouraged to actively participate in our patients’ care, and are given close supervision and guidance. All patients do have the option to be seen only by a licensed PT from our staff if they prefer.

Is there parking available at your locations?
There is ample free parking in our parking lots and on the street in Brookline and Cohasset.

At the POST site in the Prudential Center there is parking available on the street and Fitcorp can validate your parking for a cost of $7.00, for up to three hours in the Prudential Garage.

My doctor suggested certain specific types of therapies. Do you do them?
We work closely with referring physicians to ensure high quality of appropriate care. If you have questions about specific treatments, check our facilities page, or give us a call.
